Let’s have a whale of a time making this card together! The Stampin’ Up! Whale Done photopolymer stamp set has been carried over to the new catalog for another year which makes me very happy. I love being close to any kind of water, ocean, river, lake, you name it. So, today’s project takes us to the ocean with waves and a whale telling the card recipient that they are kind of a big deal! As always, you have the freedom to substitute a different stamp set or different colors for your cardstock. That’s what makes cardmaking so fun. You can look at someone else’s card and adapt it any way you want and make it your own!

Instructions
- Cut a piece of cardstock (I used pear pizzazz) 5 ¼ by 4 inches
- Optional step – if you have the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder, place the cardstock from step 1 inside and run it through your embossing machine
- Fold your card base on the score line and give it a good, crisp crease with your bone folder (if you have one)
- Die cut or use your 2 inch paper punch to cut a hole in the pear pizzazz embossed cardstock making sure to center it.
- Add stampin’ dimensionals to the back of the pear pizzazz embossed cardstock
- Attach your little fish stamp to your acrylic block and stamp the background on your base card (on either side of where the embossed piece will go) using coastal cabana ink
- Apply stamp “You’re kind of a Big Deal” to your acrylic block and stamp image on a piece of white cardstock using coastal cabana ink.
- Center the embossed cardstock with the two inch hole over the card base but don’t adhere it yet. Trace the circle from the hole onto your card base so you know where to place your sentiment in the next step.
- Attach the white cardstock with your stamped sentiment to your card base where you drew the circle.
- Now adhere the embossed piece on top of card base so your sentiment shows through the hole.
- Next stamp the whale on white cardstock in night of navy ink (after applying stamp to acrylic block). Then either fussy cut it out with paper snips or use the whale punch if you have it. Another alternative is fussy cut a whale out of the retired designer series paper called Whale of a Time (which is what I did).
- Add a couple dimensionals to the back of the whale and attach just below the sentiment.
- Next, we need to add a little embellishment. So, I added 3 clear epoxy shapes that look like water bubbles. But you can add anything you have on hand to give it a little extra pizzazz! Tip: embellishments should be added in odd numbers, 3 or 5 or 7 and in a triangular format which is more pleasing to the eye.
- Lastly, take a picture of your finished project and share it on my Facebook page – click here. I would love to see your creative take on this card (even if you used a different stamp set)!
