Partial Flap Fold Card

partial flap fold card

Hello there!  I searched high and low for the proper name for this fun fold and I believe it is called the “Partial Flap Fold Card”.  It is very easy to make and I hope you give it a try.  It has a portrait or vertical orientation and flips open from the bottom rather than the side.  I’d love to see your version of this fun fold so feel free to post it over on my Facebook page. Let’s get started!

Supplies and Measurements

Cardstock measuring 11″ x 4 1/4″ (card base) scored at 5 1/2 inches and cut the 11″ side down to 8 inches and save that piece
White Cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 4″ (inside card)
White Cardstock measuring 2 1/4″ x 4″ (embossing optional)
Designer Series Paper measuring 2 3/4″ x 4″
Embossing Folder (optional)
Two different size circle dies or circle punches
Stamp set for sentiment that fits inside your smallest circle cutout
Embellishments (I used 3 pearls)
Adhesive
Stampin’ Dimensionals (optional)

Instructions for Partial Flap Fold

  1. Score your card base as 5 1/2″. Shorten the length of the card base from 11 inches to 8 inches by cutting off 3 inches, making it 8″ x 4 1/4 inches.
  2. Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of your card base centering it and leaving a border around the edges.
  3. Emboss your smaller piece of white cardstock and then adhere it to the front small flap of your card base.  Center it and leave a border around the edges.
  4. Attach your designer series paper to the piece of cardstock that you cut off from your card base that measures 3″ x 4 1/4″. Then apply adhesive to the back of that piece but only at the top of the cardstock/dsp piece. Be careful not to glue your card shut by applying adhesive too far down.  Adhere it portrait mode to the top flap of your card base centering it.
  5. Stamp your sentiment on your smaller circle and adhere it to the larger circle.  Use dimensionals to pop it up and adhere it to the front flap.
  6. Apply your embellishments.
  7. Decorate your envelope to match if you want by adhering the same designer series paper to the envelope flap or using your stamps and ink.

How easy was that!
