How to Showcase Both Sides of Your Designer Series Paper

berry burst card

Do you ever fall in love with both sides of a beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) and hate having to choose which side to hide? This simple layout template solves that problem by letting you showcase multiple patterns at once while keeping the spotlight on a smaller focal image in the center. It’s an easy way to add interest, use more of those gorgeous papers you love, and create a balanced design that comes together quickly.

Showcase Both Sides of your Designer Series Paper

Template Measurements

Card base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Layer 1: (2 DSP pieces) 3″ x 1″
Layer 2: (2 DSP pieces) 1″ x 4-1/4″
Layer 3: 1-7/8″ x 3-1/8″
Focal Layer: 1-3/4″ x 3″

Directions

  1. First create your card base by cutting a piece of cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and score it in the middle at 4-1/4″.
  2. Next, cut two pieces of designer series paper measuring 3″ x 1″
  3. Cut two different pieces of DSP measuring 1″ x 4-1/4″
  4. Then adhere the four pieces of DSP to the front of your card base referring to the template picture above.
  5. Next cut cardstock to create your focal layer for your focal point measuring 1-7/8″ x 3-1/8″
  6. Then cut your focal point a little smaller than the focal layer measuring 1-3/4″ x 3″ and adhere it to the focal layer.
  7. Then adhere it to the center of the card base leaving equal borders around the focal layer and the other layers.
  8. Final step, decorate as desired with ribbon, embellishments or a sentiment.
