Hey there my crafty peeps! Got Scraps? I’ve got a solution.
I am always looking for card making designs that I can use for all my scrap pieces of designer series paper (DSP). I found this design from a fellow cardmaker named Oksana. If you have lots of leftover pattern paper that is too pretty to throw away, try this layout below.
The layout turns those lovely scraps into a cheery, patchwork-style card that highlights different DSP patterns. Every card looks unique and it is such a great way to stretch your supplies.
Scraps Measurements
Designer Series Paper: (4) 7/8″ x 1-7/8″, (4) 3/4″ x 1-1/2″ (I used Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP)
Instructions
- First make your card base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored in half at 4-1/4″. I used Golden Glow cardstock.
- Next make a layer to attach to the front of the card base measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. I used Peaceful Pine cardstock.
- Then adhere your DSP measuring 7/8″ x 1-7/8″ to the top and bottom. Two on top and two on the bottom leaving a border around each scrap piece.
- Next adhere your DSP measuring 3/4″ x 1-1/2″ along the edges. Two on the left side of your cardstock layer and two on the right leaving a border around each piece.
- Cut a piece of basic white cardstock for the center measuring 3-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ and adhere it.
- Add a focal piece to the center and a sentiment if desired. I fussy cut a vase of flowers from the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper and colored it with Stampin’ Blends in Peaceful Pine, Barely Blush and Hydrangea Hue.
- My sentiment comes from Greetings for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack. I popped it up with dimensionals.
I hope you find this helpful and will share your version over on my Facebook VIP Group.
