Corner Tuck Card Tutorial

front corner tuck

The Corner Tuck card fun fold technique is great for keeping your card closed so it can lie flat. It also adds some interest to the card and you can decorate the corner flap to coordinate with the rest of the card.  Wanna know how to make one?  Let’s get started.

Supply List

Card stock measuring 8 1/4″ x 4 1/4 ”  and 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ and 2″ x 2″ (I used Balmy Blue)
Designer Series Paper (DSP) measuring 2 1/2″ x 4 ” and 2 3/4″ x 4″ and 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ (I used Country Floral dsp)
White card stock measuring 4″ x 2 1/2″ (2 pieces)
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Stamp Set (I used Friendly Gnomes)
Ink or Stampin’ Blends

Steps to make the Corner Tuck Card

  1. First score and fold the cardstock at 2 3/4″ along the 8 1/4 ” long side.

  1. Then add the DSP to the front of the card that measures 2 1/2″ x 4″ making sure to leave a border around the edges.
  2. Next, stamp your image and color it with Stampin’ Blends on the white card stock. Then attach it to the cardstock measuring 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ leaving equal borders on all sidesstep 2 corner tuck
  3. Attach the stamped piece from the previous step to the front flap of the card but only apply adhesive to the left hand side so you don’t glue your card shut by mistake. Refer to the photo below for placement.
  4. Add white card stock on the inside of the card just to the right of the score line and then attach the DSP (2 3/4 x 4″) to the right of the white cardstock as shown.
  5. Attach the DSP measuring 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ to the card stock measuring 2″ x 2″ and then cut it on the diagonal. You only need half of it. (you can use the other half on another card)
  6. Attach strips of double sided foam adhesive strips cut from the edges of the Stampin’ Dimensionals and place them along two edges of the triangle as shown below so they meet at the point.  Then attach it to the corner of the card to make the pocket where the front flap of the card will tuck under.

That’s all there is to it!  You did it! Add a sentiment or write a message inside, decorate your envelope and send some happy mail to a loved one!  It will make their day.

Another Example

Here is another example of the Corner Tuck Card made with the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. I only put DSP on the flap and the corner.  The entire inside of the card is white cardstock with some seashell stamped images and a sentiment.
