When your designer series paper is so pretty you want to show off BOTH sides, use the Collar Fun Fold technique. It is a simple fun fold but it will really impress your friends.
Supplies for Collar Fun Fold
Cardstock (two colors)
Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Dimensionals
Stamp Set
Adhesive
Scissors
Measurements
Cardstock for card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored in half at 4-1/4″
Cardstock layer to coordinate with DSP 5-1/4″ x 4″
DSP layer 5-1/4″ x 4″
Instructions for Collar Fun Fold
- Along the right-hand side of the DSP you want to face forward make a pencil mark halfway down at 2-5/8″ and then cut horizontally making a 2-inch cut.
- Then fold both sides back so it looks like a collar exposing the opposite side of the DSP. You can then either glue the collar down or pop it up with dimensionals.
- Attach the DSP to the coordinating cardstock layer that measures the same size as the DSP.
- Then stamp your sentiment in the opening.
- Add a focal point to the center of the card where the two folds open.
- Next center and attach the DSP layer to your card base.
- Lastly, embellish and decorate as desired.
Wasn’t that easy? Here is another example below. I die cut the Petal Pink cardstock layer below the DSP and added the sentiment to the collar instead. Then added the die cut flower as the focal point. I would love for you to share your version of this technique on my Facebook VIP group.
