Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

Autumn is such a beautiful season here in Minnesota when the leaves start turning colors.  I saw a quote on Facebook that said “Autumn is like a second spring when the leaves become flowers”.  It is so true.  The various shades of reds, yellows, greens and orange colors can be breathtaking.  I guess I am not the only one that loves to make fall cards because the “Autumn Leaves Bundle” and the “All About Autumn Suite” by Stampin’ Up! have been extremely popular with stampers!  The All About Autumn Specialty Designer Series pattern paper, the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo Pack are out of stock until October 9-23.  Luckily the featured card doesn’t use those three products!  My upline, Candy Rattray gifted me this card and it is so pretty I wanted to share it with you.

Card Instructions

  1. Using your Old Olive Ink and the leaf stamps from the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set, stamp the front of the Old Olive card base filling it with images of leaves.
  2. Die cut/emboss a tree ring in crumb cake using the Tree Rings Hybrid which cuts and embosses.  Attach it to your card base in the upper left.
  3. Attach the narrow strip of blackberry bliss cardstock across the card (landscape mode).
  4. Attach the gingham dsp across the card overlapping the blackberry bliss piece slightly.
  5. Use the Autumn Leaves Dies to cut two old olive leaves, two rose gold foil leaves and one blackberry bliss leaf. Attach the old olive and rose gold leaves across the gingham dsp and then attach the blackberry bliss leaf in the middle using a stamping dimensional to pop it up.
  6. Stamp your sentiment from the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set in black ink on the Cajun Craze cardstock and die cut it with the Something Fancy Die.  Then attach it to your cardbase.
  7. Color your ribbon with the Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend marker and tie it in a knot. Use a glue dot or adhesive to attach it to the corner of your sentiment piece.
  8. Decorate with Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots

If you like you can add some white cardstock to the inside of your card base, stamp another sentiment, sign your name and send it to someone! Don’t forget to stamp a few leaves on the envelope to jazz it up too! Supplies can be purchased from my online store by clicking this link.
