Two Step Stamping with Beautifully Happy

beautifully happy card

Every Friday on Facebook I post a “Feature Friday” episode.  In order to go into greater depth, this week I created a blog post to go along with it.  Feature Friday is a double feature this week!  I am featuring the 17 piece stamp set called “Beautifully Happy” along with Two Step Stamping.  The Beautifully Happy stamp set is made of photopolymer which is exactly what you need to be able to Two Step Stamp.  The stamp set is FREE with a $100 purchase through my online store only during Sale-a-bration.  Sale-a-bration ends on February 28th, 2023. I will add a link to my store at the end of this post.

The reason this stamp set is perfect for two step stamping is because you can see through the stamps for perfect positioning.  What exactly is two step stamping you may be asking?  Well, Stampin’ Up! designs some of their stamps to coordinate with each other so that after you stamp the first stamp, next you stamp the second stamp right over the top of the first stamped image.  The second stamp adds additional color and/or texture to the first stamped image.  If you look below, you can see step one where I stamped the outline of the flowers and leaves using Momento Black Ink.

Step One

Next, I took my second stamp and inked it in Melon Mambo and positioned the stamp directly over the top of the flowers lining it up perfectly so that the flowers were then filled in with the Melon Mambo color.  Below is step two of two step stamping using the Beautifully Happy stamp set.

Step Two

This stamp step has additional stamps to continue filling in the outline from step one. I changed ink colors to Pear Pizzaz and did step two for the leaves and the buds as well.

step 3

What do you think?  Pretty cool, huh? The benefit of Two Step Stamping is to be able to change colors like I did here.  Another benefit is how easy it is to align your second stamp over the top of the first stamped image.

Stampin’ Up! has two basic types of two-step stamping sets. One where there is an outline image and a block image that is stamped over the top which I just demonstrated above. The second where you combine two stamps to create an image.

I hope you give two-step stamping a try either with this stamp set or any of the other ones for sale on my online store.  Head over to my store to shop and remember any $50 or $100 purchase before tax and shipping qualifies for a FREE stamp set or designer series pattern paper through the end of February 2023.

Here is another card I made using the Beautifully Happy stamp set in Fresh Freesia instead of Melon Mambo.  Enjoy!
