I posted a card on Facebook recently using the Bargello Technique and many people asked me for the instructions on how to make it.  So, I am going to quickly explain how to make a beautiful handmade card using the Bargello Technique that others will be amazed when you tell them you made it!

Supplies

White cardstock measuring 5 ¼” x 6″

White cardstock measuring 4 ¼” x 5 ½”

Designer Series Paper (DSP)

Bargello Technique Directions

  1. Take two different pieces of designer series pattern paper (DSP), one measuring 3”x 6” and the other measuring 2 ½” x 6”.
  2. Cut them into ¾ inch x 6 inch strips and glue them to a piece of white cardstock measuring 5 ¼” x 6” alternating designs as shown below.
  3. bargello technique step one
  4. Then with the 6 inch side at the top, cut ½” strips.
  5. bargello technique step two
  6. Next, stagger the strips and glue them to 4 ¼” x 5 ½ inch piece of white cardstock.
  7. bargello technique step three
  8. Flip it over and trim the excess edges of DSP that hang off the cardstock.
